Collective Impact Workshop

The Collective Impact Workshop was a great success for the Grande Prairie Community. Facilitator Liz Weaver, Co-CEO of Tamarack Institute educated on Collective Impact which is defined as; A disciplined, cross-sector approach to solving complex social and environmental issues on a large scale. We discussed how collective leadership is adaptive leadership. Members of multiple city & county agencies were in attendance to innovative and work on 5 different areas;

  1. Youth Mental Health & Addiction
  2. Sustainable & Supporting Housing
  3. Intimate Partner and Family Violence as an Issue in our community
  4. Creating Community Connections “Coming Together”
  5. Food Security & Poverty

Day two was focused on Addressing Systemic Barriers to Family Violence, the members of the Prevention of Family Violence and community members interested in ending violence & gender based violence were in attendance.
