It’s about helping others

Volunteering. What does that mean to you? To some, it’s an opportunity to connect with their community and help give back to a noble cause. To some, it’s an escape from their daily life – a change of scenery, so to speak. For others, it’s about belonging –  being a part of something bigger!

At Odyssey House – we try to make volunteering the best experience it can be. We focus on your skill set and interests and pair you with a program or service that we offer that you can really help make a difference in. Whatever your passion – we will take you! Have an interest in cutting hair? Call us. Do you enjoy helping out with administrative tasks? Call us. Do you want to engage and volunteer with some of our client groups? Call us!

I think Martin Luther King Jr. said it best:

“Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve…. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”

It is no secret that there are many opportunities to volunteer at Odyssey House. All these opportunities are both rich learning experiences and important contributions to the community in their own way. To learn more – email us at: volunteers@odysseyhouse.ca
