Family Resource Center

Child Care
Child care is available for mothers staying at the Emergency Shelter or Second-Stage Shelter, as well as those participating in groups, programs, or receiving support from the Outreach team. We offer a warm, welcoming playroom where your child(ren) can feel safe, supported, and free to explore.
We're also here to support you in your parenting journey. Whether you have questions about potty training, positive behavior strategies, bedtime routines, or anything in between, we’re available to listen and work alongside you. Our goal is to help you strengthen family bonds and establish positive routines in a supportive environment.
Respite care is also available to give mothers time to attend appointments, meetings, or simply take a well-deserved break. Respite care is offered Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM (closed for lunch from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM), excluding statutory holidays. As space is limited, we encourage you to contact the child care team in advance to arrange care for your child(ren).

Out-of-School Care
The Odyssey House Out-of-School Care program has been developed for school-aged children (6 to 16). The program is open to those staying in the shelter, those who have stayed in the shelter in the past or accessing the outreach team.
Care is provided during the school year from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Extended hours are available on school-based holidays such as teacher professional days, spring break, and similar occasions. Please note that the Out-of-School Care program is closed on statutory holidays, including Christmas and Easter.
