Serenity Place

When shelter is just the start.
Serenity Place is a second-stage shelter and family violence recovery and support program operated by Odyssey House. The program supports women, with or without children, who are experiencing safety concerns related to family violence.
At Serenity Place, each participant is met with care and supported in ways that honor their unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Together, we focus on safety planning, emotional healing, building stability, and preparing for the next chapter.
Participants are connected with a dedicated Support Worker who provides regular in-unit check-ins, along with advocacy, referrals, and ongoing encouragement. There are also opportunities to take part in group programming, life-skills development, and community-building activities.
As part of the program, participants have access to a fully furnished, independent living unit designed to offer comfort, privacy, and a sense of stability, creating space to focus on healing and next steps.
Serenity Place is a structured, transitional program that supports participants as they move toward safety and independence. Participants typically stay for approximately six months while working toward their goals and preparing for longer-term housing within the community.
Referrals to Serenity Place are made through Odyssey House Emergency Shelter or other recognized community agencies. This process helps ensure participants are connected to the appropriate supports prior to entry; self-referrals are not accepted.
