Support Groups

A Safe Place to Share
People experience violence in different ways, and each person processes it differently. Staying at a shelter isn’t always necessary or even possible. Sometimes, what’s needed most is someone who will listen without judgment, stand alongside you in moments of confrontation, or simply offer a safe place to cry, reflect, and heal.
Abuse takes a toll. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed, hopeless, confused, or simply worn out. Just know one thing: you don’t have to go through this alone. Our staff shares the belief that we’re here to support women making choices in their lives. We can listen, inform, and encourage you. The choice of what you do with that support is always yours.
Our groups are open to all women, regardless of whether they’ve stayed at the shelter. You can come for your current situation, for your past wounds, or on behalf of a loved one. This is a safe, confidential space to share, learn, heal, and grow.
Childcare is provided at no cost. You must pre-register for childcare.

Refill Your Cup: A Self Care Workshop for Women - in parnership with the Resource Centre for Suicide Prevention
Life can be busy, stressful, and emotionally demanding. This interactive workshop will explore the importance of self-care and how stress can affect our mental, emotional, physical, and social well-being. Participants will learn how to recognize early signs of burnout and overwhelm, discover practical and realistic self-care strategies, and reflect on what helps them feel grounded, connected, and supported.
Through discussion, reflection, and hands-on activities, this workshop encourages women to view self-care not as a luxury, but as an essential tool for maintaining wellness, resilience, and balance in everyday life.
