Laura Santone
Prevention Manager
Laura has always known she wanted to be a helper and advocate for others. She started her career in the women’s sector in 2011, working in Ontario as a Child & Youth Advocate within a domestic violence shelter. She jumped at opportunities to expand her knowledge and skills and progressed into a shelter manager role, and eventually into a senior leadership position in rural Ontario. She moved to Grande Prairie in 2022 and joined Odyssey House as a Client Support Manager at the emergency shelter, before moving into the role of Prevention Manager in 2025.
Laura is passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals through crises and holds a keen interest in trauma informed practice and harm reduction. She loves a good challenge and feels strongly that our best work is completed in collaboration with others.
Laura’s favourite things include her old pup Dexter, spending time in nature, visiting with family and cuddles from her little daughter Lena.
